Platform Engineer | GCP & Kubernetes Focus

Join a world class engineering division within a leading global financial services organisation. We are looking for a Platform Engineer to own and evolve the foundational platform that powers our high scale customer facing products.

The Role As a Platform Engineer, you will own the core cloud engineering foundations relied upon by multiple development teams. You will design, stand up, and automate end to end environments, streamline deployments, and establish high standards for observability and reliability.

- Design, automate, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP and GKE.
- Build modern CI/CD delivery pipelines to ensure secure, repeatable software releases.
- Enhance observability, logging, and monitoring frameworks across containerised workloads.
- Automate complex migration tooling and integrate core platform components, including API gateways and service meshes.
- Work in an AI-assisted engineering ecosystem (e.g. Copilot, Claude) to accelerate delivery speed and maintain security standards.

- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible
- CI/CD & Automation: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Python, Bash
- Observability & Service Mesh: Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana, API Gateways, Event Messaging

What You'll Bring
- Strong hands on expertise managing and scaling GCP and Kubernetes (GKE) environments.
- Proven track record building secure, automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD).
- Solid background in infrastructure automation, system integrations, and observability.
- Experience or comfort leveraging AI-assisted development tools to drive efficiency.
- Strong collaborative problem solving skills across complex systems.
