Powder Coating Supervisor

Doogood Australia is one of Australia's leaders in steel fencing, and our powder coating department makes sure every post, panel and gate leaves our site looking sharp and built to last. We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Supervisor to lead our powder coating team, keep production moving and hold our finish to the highest standard.

About the role

You'll assist in the running of the day-to-day operation of the powder coating department, leading a team of coaters and line operators. You'll be on the floor, not behind a desk, making sure work is done safely, on time and right the first time.

What you'll be doing

- Supervising, rostering and leading the powder coating team, including inducting and training new staff
- Planning daily production with the operations team to meet delivery deadlines
- Overseeing pre-treatment, line loading, coating application and oven curing
- Running quality checks on film thickness, adhesion, colour match and finish, and reducing rework
- Managing colour changes, powder stock and consumables
- Leading WHS on the floor, including PPE, hazardous chemicals, SDS, toolbox talks and incident reporting




- Coordinating maintenance of booths, guns, ovens and pre-treatment equipment to minimise downtime
- Keeping accurate production, quality and safety records
- Finding ways to improve efficiency, quality and safety
- Working with Arvo shift Supervisor for smooth Transitions

What you'll bring

Essential:

- At least 3 years of powder coating experience in a production environment
- At least 1 year in a leading hand, team leader or supervisory role
- Robust knowledge of pre-treatment, application and curing processes
- A sharp eye for quality and finish
- A solid understanding of WHS, especially hazardous chemicals and PPE
- Clear communication and the ability to lead and motivate a team
- Basic computer skills for production records and reporting
- Full Australian working rights
- A forklift licence (LF)
