Icarus Skin Cancer Clinic consists of two skin clinics, one based in Koo Wee Rup and a second in Wonthaggi, boasting experienced and highly regarded skin doctors. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional skin health outcomes, preventative care, and after care treatments for our local communities.

It is part of the larger Wonthaggi Medical Group, the Bass Coast's largest private medical services provider, with GP clinics in Wonthaggi, Inverloch and Newhaven on Phillip Island.

What we are looking for

We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated, and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our clinical team. You will work closely with our lead doctors to provide comprehensive skin assessments and hands-on clinical care.

We will consider part time or casual, with days and shifts negotiable based on availability.

Primarily this role will be based at our Wonthaggi clinic. There would likely be a need to occasionally cover shifts in Koo Wee Rup, however.

Qualifications & experience

- Current AHPRA Registration (RN or EN) with no conditions.

- Demonstrated experience in a practice nursing,



dermatology, or skin cancer clinic setting.

- Strong clinical skills including advanced wound care.

- Exceptional communication and patient-facing skills.

Tasks & responsibilities

- Patient Triage & Assessment: Performing initial skin checks and comprehensive patient history taking.

- Clinical Procedures: Assisting doctors with skin cancer excisions, biopsies, and minor surgical procedures.

- Wound Care & Dressings: Managing complex post-operative wound care and patient education.

- Infection Control: Maintaining the highest standards of sterilisation and clinical hygiene.

Treatment Administration: Administering laser therapies / light therapy treatments.

Comprehensive training will be provided for laser therapies and light therapy treatments.

- Other tasks as required

Remuneration will be based on classification as an EN (approx $36 p/hr) or RN (approx $49 p/hr)
