The Print Estimator is responsible for accurately preparing estimates and quotations for offset and digital printing as well as printed packaging.

Working closely with Sales, Production, Pre-Press, Purchasing and suppliers, the Print Estimator ensures jobs are quoted accurately, produced efficiently and delivered within agreed cost and timeframes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review client briefs, artwork, drawings, specifications and tender documentation to establish the full scope of each job.

- Prepare accurate, timely and detailed quotations for offset, digital, large-format print and printed packaging.

- Calculate all relevant costs, including materials, labour, machine time, finishing, freight and outsourced services.

- Determine the most efficient and cost-effective production method.

- Ensure quotations reflect current material pricing, labour costs, equipment capabilities, production requirements and freight costs.

- Maintain accurate costing, pricing and estimating information within company systems.

- Liaise with Production and Pre-Press to confirm specifications, materials, artwork and timelines.

- Support Sales with complex quotations and customer enquiries.

- Convert approved quotes into production jobs and job bags.

- Ensure production teams have clear and accurate information to manufacture jobs efficiently.

- Liaise with Production and Pre-Press to confirm job specifications, artwork requirements, materials,



production methods and schedules.

- Coordinate with Purchasing and external suppliers to source materials, obtain pricing and confirm availability.

Printing and/or packaging knowledge is highly desirable (but not required):

- Experience preparing estimates and quotations for all forms of bookwork and printed packaging.

- Knowledge of offset and digital printing with emphasis on book production.

- Knowledge of substrates, paper and board, finishing processes and production methods.

- An understanding of how print jobs are costed, scheduled and produced.

- Ability to assist with the design and development of packaging solutions.

Remuneration based on knowledge and experience.
