Business Process & UX Consultant

FMA Partners is undertaking a business process improvement initiative to document, streamline and modernise key operational workflows across the firm. We are seeking an experienced contractor to help capture existing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and design transparent, user-friendly workflows that support future automation and technology initiatives.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience in process mapping, SOP development, service design, UX thinking, and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Engage with stakeholders to understand current business processes and workflows
- Facilitate workshops and process discovery sessions
- Document current-state ("as-is") processes
- Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks and opportunities for improvement
- Design future-state ("to-be") workflows
- Create process maps, flowcharts and workflow diagrams
- Develop clear, practical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Apply UX and service design principles to improve staff experience and process adoption
- Produce documentation suitable for onboarding, training and knowledge management purposes




- Support process standardisation across teams and functions

Skills & Experience

- Proven experience in business process mapping and process improvement
- Strong SOP and operational documentation skills
- Experience using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, FigJam or similar
- Understanding of UX, service design, customer journey mapping, or human-centred design
- Ability to interview stakeholders and translate discussions into structured workflows
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- Experience working within professional services, consulting, accounting, financial services or similar environments is highly regarded

- Current-state mind map of business operations
- Current-state process maps
- Future-state process maps
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Workflow diagrams and decision trees
- Process improvement recommendations
- Documentation suitable for inclusion in an internal knowledge base

Engagement Details

- Contract engagement - 1-2 days in our Cronulla office for approximately 2-3 months with potential extension
