Hays is partnering with a respected public sector organisation to recruit an experienced Project Reporting & Data Specialist. This is an opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of complex, large-scale projects by developing reporting solutions, generating meaningful performance insights, and enabling informed project decision-making.

Your new role

Working closely with project leaders, project controls teams, and technical stakeholders, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality project reporting, performance analysis, dashboards, and data solutions. You will help provide a consolidated view of project performance across areas such as cost, schedule, risk, and commercial outcomes while driving improvements in reporting systems and processes.

Key responsibilities include

- Developing and maintaining project and portfolio reporting frameworks, dashboards, and performance reports.
- Analysing project data, trends, risks, and forecasts to provide actionable insights for decision-makers.
- Designing and enhancing reporting systems, workflows, and data solutions.
- Supporting governance and assurance activities by improving the quality and consistency of project information.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives across reporting processes, tools, and practices.
- Providing specialist reporting and data advice to project stakeholders.




- Coaching and mentoring reporting and systems professionals where required.

What you'll need to succeed

You will bring strong experience delivering reporting, analytics, and data solutions within complex project environments. You are highly analytical, comfortable working with large and diverse datasets, and able to translate business requirements into practical reporting and information solutions.

You will ideally demonstrate:

- Experience designing, developing, and managing reporting, data, and information solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, issues, and opportunities from multiple data sources.
- Experience implementing and continuously improving reporting platforms, dashboards, and systems.
- Robust stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences.
- Leadership or mentoring experience within reporting, systems, or data-focused teams.
- Experience supporting project performance reporting and governance activities within large or complex delivery environments.

Desired Experience

- Major infrastructure, construction, engineering, or project delivery experience.
- Microsoft Power Platform experience, including reporting, workflow, application, or data solutions.
- Relevant qualifications in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
