About the company

Talesca is partnering with an EPC contractor delivering major renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects in Australia.

The business brings together engineering, procurement and construction, with delivery teams covering civil and electrical works alongside specialist subcontractors and equipment suppliers. This role will work closely with the project leadership team, engineering and construction personnel, and the client to manage quality throughout delivery.

About the project The opportunity supports a major renewable energy development comprising utility-scale solar sites and battery energy storage, with substantial civil, mechanical and electrical infrastructure.

The delivery scope includes self-performed civil and electrical works, specialist piling and mechanical packages, and interfaces with substation and grid connection infrastructure. Quality management will span early planning, construction, testing and commissioning through to final handover.

The contractor is recruiting this position early so the QA Manager can help establish the project quality requirements and processes ahead of site delivery. The role will initially be office-based before transitioning to site.

About the role

You will lead the project quality function, bringing together contractual requirements, client specifications and the company’s quality management system into a practical approach for the delivery teams.

Working closely with the Project Manager and Assurance and Compliance Manager, you will oversee quality personnel across the project disciplines, manage subcontractor and supplier compliance, and drive progressive completion of works and handover documentation.

Key responsibilities

- Establish and maintain project quality plans, procedures and risk registers, ensuring contractual and client requirements are captured.
- Oversee inspection and test plans, inspection records, materials testing and progressive closeout of completed work packages.
- Lead project,

subcontractor, supplier and equipment manufacturer audits, managing non-conformances and corrective actions through to resolution.
- Lead and mentor quality personnel, support construction and engineering teams, and manage quality reporting and client interfaces.
- Drive defect closeout and completion documentation, including test records, certificates, O&M; manuals and updated drawings, to support commissioning and handover.

About you You will bring practical construction quality experience and the ability to lead teams, work with subcontractors and resolve issues throughout project delivery.

- At least seven years’ quality management experience within construction or EPC projects.
- Experience implementing project quality systems and managing inspections, audits, non-conformances and handover requirements.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications and/or Lead Auditor certification.
- Experience managing quality personnel and working closely with clients, engineers, construction teams and suppliers.
- Strong electrical construction quality experience, ideally within renewables, substations or HV infrastructure, with familiarity using Aconex, TeamBinder or similar systems.
- Experience on utility-scale solar, BESS, wind or transmission projects will be highly regarded. An electrical trade background, followed by progression into quality management, would be particularly valuable, as would experience auditing international equipment manufacturers.

What’s on offer

- Market-competitive salary package plus superannuation.
- Join early and establish the project’s quality plans, processes and team.
- Lead quality across a major utility-scale solar and BESS development.
- Broad scope across civil, electrical and mechanical construction.
- See the project through from planning to commissioning and final handover.
