Kokatha Aboriginal Corporation (KAC) is seeking Rangers to join the Kokatha Ranger Program and support Kokatha People’s aspirations to care for Country, culture and community.
Based at Roxby Downs Station, this is a hands-on, field-based role working across the Kokatha Native Title Determination area and surrounds. You will work as part of the Ranger team undertaking a variety of environmental, cultural and station management activities.
About the role
Working with the Ranger Coordinator and Ranger team, you will participate in on-Country Ranger and station management activities, threatened species monitoring and environmental management, weed and fire management, fencing, cattle monitoring and maintenance of watering points. You will support caring for Country initiatives and ranger-led works, record field data and Ranger activities, work with Elders, Traditional Owners and cultural advisors, participate in community events and Ranger Reference Group activities, work with partner organisations and government agencies, undertake training and development relevant to the role, and follow cultural protocols and WHS requirements.

- Recording field data and Ranger activities
- Working with Elders, Traditional Owners and cultural advisors

- Undertaking training and development relevant to the role
About you
- Enjoys practical, outdoor and field-based work
- Can work effectively as part of a team
- Has experience in Ranger work, land management or a similar hands-on outdoor role
- Is physically fit and comfortable working in challenging field conditions
- Is willing to undertake accredited and non-accredited training
- Has valuable verbal communication skills
- Is willing to travel and work in remote locations, including camping for several days when required
- Holds a current valid driver's license
- Can obtain and maintain relevant clearances, including a National Police Check and Working with Children Check
- Experience with 4WDs, local flora and fauna, field data collection, tablets or Microsoft 365 would be advantageous.
