Location: Sydney & Melbourne The Reporting Solution Architect & Sustainment Lead is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for the architecture, delivery, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise reporting solutions across Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI Report Builder, and Power BI Desktop.

The role leads technical design decisions, guides reporting developers, resolves complex production issues, and coordinates reporting enhancements and sustainment releases.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting Solution Architecture

- Design secure, scalable, and maintainable reporting solutions across Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Azure Synapse, Power BI Report Builder, and Power BI Desktop.
- Translate business requirements into solution architecture, technical designs, data models, datasets, security controls, and integration patterns.
- Recommend suitable reporting approaches based on business needs, data volume, performance, security, and supportability.
- Lead the modernization of legacy reports using SQL-based datasets, Power BI Paginated Reports, and Power BI Desktop.
- Review technical designs and implementations to ensure alignment with architecture and development standards.

Sustainment Leadership

- Lead the assessment, prioritization, assignment, and resolution of reporting incidents, defects, service requests, and enhancements.
- Coordinate investigations across Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Azure Synapse, Power BI paginated reports and Power BI Desktop reports.
- Lead root-cause analysis and ensure permanent corrective actions are implemented.
- Manage sustainment releases, including impact assessment, testing, deployment planning, production validation, and post-release support.
- Communicate risks, dependencies, technical issues,



and delivery status to business and technical stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, standardization, documentation, and reduction of technical debt.

Reporting Development and & Data Engineering

- Power BI Paginated Reports and RDL files using Power BI Report Builder.
- Power BI Desktop reports, semantic models, DAX measures, and Power Query transformations.
- Configure report parameters, filters, expressions, and drill-through functionality.
- Optimize report queries, data models, calculations, refresh processes, and overall performance.
- Design and support reporting data solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Configure and support Azure Synapse Link for Dataverse.
- Create and maintain Azure Synapse workspaces.
- Develop SQL queries, views, stored procedures, operational data stores(ODS), and reporting data models.

Technical Leadership & Governance

- Provide technical guidance to reporting developers, data engineers, and support resources.
- Maintain architecture documents, technical designs, development standards, deployment procedures, and SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) documents.
- Ensure code review, testing, release governance, security, and production controls are followed.
- Lead knowledge transfer and support team capability development.
