At the City of Armadale, we’re looking for a dependable operator to join our Resource Collection and Recovery Team. If you've driven waste trucks, side loaders, rear loaders or other heavy vehicles, you'll know this job is about more than driving. It's about working safely, looking after your vehicle, helping your mates and delivering a reliable service the community depends on every day.

What the role looks like

- Operating resource collection vehicles across residential, commercial and public areas
- Completing scheduled waste and recycling collection runs safely and efficiently
- Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting faults or maintenance issues
- Cleaning and maintaining vehicles to keep them secure and operational
- Delivering, replacing and repairing waste and recycling bins
- Assisting with illegally dumped rubbish collection and other resource recovery activities
- Recording service and maintenance information using the City's systems
- Working alongside the workshop and collection crews to keep services running smoothly
- Assisting residents with waste collection enquiries and service requests
- Participating in daily pre-starts,

You’re someone who...

- Has experience safely driving large vehicles, preferably waste collection trucks or heavy equipment.
- Understands the responsibility that comes with operating large vehicles in residential streets and busy public areas
- Takes pride in working safely and looking after equipment
- Can work independently and stay productive throughout the day
- Is physically fit and able to handle manual tasks like lifting and navigating varied terrain.
- Has basic computer skills to complete vehicle and service records
- Has a good understanding of customer service and representing an organisation positively in the community
- Holds a current HR Class Drivers Licence and Construction Induction Card (White Card).
