About the role

We are seeking a Retail Bakery Assistant to join the team at Rainforest Bakery in Everton Hills, QLD. This is a casual position offering flexibility and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic retail setting. As a Retail Bakery Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service whilst supporting the daily operations of our bakery. You will be working on a casual basis, whilst contributing to the success of our business.

What you'll be doing

- Serving customers with a friendly and professional manner, taking orders and processing payments
- Handling and displaying fresh bakery products in an appealing and hygienic manner
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the retail space, including shelves, counters and display areas
- Assisting with stock rotation and inventory management
- Operating the till system accurately and handling cash transactions
- Supporting the preparation of bakery items for sale, including packaging and labelling
- Responding to customer enquiries and providing product information
- Following food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Contributing to a positive team environment and supporting colleagues during busy periods

What we're looking for

- Previous retail or customer service experience is preffered, though we welcome applications from those new to the industry with a willingness to learn
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with customers
- A friendly, approachable demeanour and genuine passion for customer service
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, particularly during peak trading hours




- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and handle products safely
- Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
- Basic numeracy skills for till operations and cash handling
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons and potentially weekends
- Food safety awareness and commitment to maintaining hygiene standards
