Job Title: Retail Sales Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented Retail Sales Assistant to join our team at our retail store in West Mackay, Queensland. The successful candidate will have a strong background in retail customer service, with preferred experience in pumping and irrigation products. As a Retail Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with their product inquiries, and driving sales to achieve targets.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers as they enter the store and provide assistance when needed.
- Understand customers’ needs and recommend suitable pumping and irrigation products based on their requirements.
- Provide product information, specifications, pricing details, and answer any related questions.




- Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain an organized display area by restocking shelves, arranging merchandise neatly, and ensuring product availability.
- Assist in inventory management by conducting regular stock checks and reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly by listening attentively, addressing issues professionally, or escalating them as necessary.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends related to pumping and irrigation products through ongoing training or self-study.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a similar role within the retail industry is required.
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional retail customer service is essential.
- Ideally has experience working with pumping and irrigation products; knowledge of different brands/models would be an advantage but not mandatory.
