About the Chance

Join our Joondanna team as a Room Leader and help shape an workplace where children thrive, educators feel supported, and families feel welcome. Working closely with the Centre Director and Educational Leader, you will guide your educators, lead the planning and delivery of an engaging educational program, and create a safe, nurturing environment that supports each child’s learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

As our Room Leader, you will:





- Lead the day-to-day organisation of your room, supporting secure supervision, smooth routines, and responsive care.
- Plan, implement, document, and evaluate an educational program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and children’s interests, strengths, and developmental needs.
- Guide, mentor, and support your room team, setting clear expectations and modelling high-quality practice.
- Build secure, respectful relationships with children and support their wellbeing, inclusion, and individual needs.
- Foster reflective practice and work with the Educational Leader to continually improve teaching and learning.
- Build strong partnerships with families through welcoming interactions, regular communication, and opportunities for their input.
- Maintain a safe, clean, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.
- Follow the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, and Panda’s policies and procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care (or an ACECQA-approved equivalent).
- Experience as a Room Leader or Lead Educator, or strong experience as an educator with demonstrated readiness to lead a room.
- A current Working with Children Check and the ability to satisfy all child safe screening and legislative requirements relevant to the role.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain).




- A strong understanding of the EYLF, NQF, NQS, and relevant National Law and Regulations.
- Strong communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, positive, and solutions-focused approach to leadership.
- A genuine commitment to providing exceptional education and care for children and outstanding service to families.
