Rostering Officer – Full-Time Remote (Philippines)
Company: Ammacare
Location: Philippines — Work from Home
Employment Type: Full-time, Remote
Working Hours: 38 hours per week, aligned with Australian operations
Salary: PHP __________ per hour
Essential Experience: ShiftCare, Australian workforce rostering and SCHADS Award payroll awareness
About the Role
Ammacare is looking for an experienced, organised and reliable Rostering Officer currently based in the Philippines to join our remote support team.
You will coordinate and maintain rosters for 170 staff working in Australia, ensuring shifts are covered, changes are communicated promptly and staffing requirements are met.
This role requires hands-on ShiftCare experience, robust Australian rostering knowledge and an understanding of how rostering decisions affect payroll, employee entitlements and staffing costs. You should be comfortable managing a large workforce, responding to last-minute changes and working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain staff rosters: Use ShiftCare to allocate and manage shifts across a 170-person workforce, considering operational requirements, staff availability, qualifications and work locations.
- Manage daily roster changes: Respond to leave requests, sick calls, cancellations and unfilled shifts, arranging suitable replacements promptly.
- Communicate clearly: Keep staff and managers informed about shift allocations, roster updates and outstanding coverage issues through phone, email and online messaging.
- Support compliant rostering: Prepare rosters in line with company policies and applicable Australian award or agreement requirements. Apply SCHADS Award awareness when planning shifts and identifying matters requiring payroll or management review.
- Maintain accurate records and support payroll: Keep staff availability, leave,
shift and timesheet information up to date. Check discrepancies and work with the payroll team to ensure hours, shift types, overtime and relevant allowances are recorded correctly.
- Monitor staffing coverage and costs: Identify staffing shortages, avoidable overtime, recurring scheduling issues and potential payroll errors, escalating concerns to management promptly.
What We Are Looking For
- Hands-on ShiftCare experience is essential, including creating, updating and managing staff rosters and schedules.
- Practical knowledge of the SCHADS Award and its payroll implications is essential, particularly when rostering an Australian workforce.
- Previous experience as a Rostering Officer, Workforce Scheduler or Staffing Coordinator supporting an Australian organisation, ideally managing a workforce of a similar size.
- Strong understanding of Australian time zones, rotating rosters, leave coverage and relevant industry rostering requirements, together with confidence using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strong spoken and written English, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities, protect confidential information and respond calmly to last-minute changes.
- Current residence in the Philippines, availability to work the agreed Australian-aligned schedule, and a reliable home-office setup with internet access, a suitable computer, a headset and a quiet workspace.
SCHADS Award and Payroll Awareness
Understanding the payroll impact of rostering is an important part of this role—not just filling shifts.
You must have a working knowledge of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS Award) as it relates to our Australian workforce. Relevant knowledge includes employee classifications and pay points, casual loading, overtime, weekend and public holiday penalties, shift allowances, minimum engagement periods, rest breaks, sleepovers and broken shifts. Fair Work Awards
You will be expected to identify potential roster-related payment issues, maintain accurate information for payroll and work closely with the payroll team to support correct employee payments. Where an award requirement is unclear, you should seek guidance rather than make assumptions.
Working Arrangements
This is a fully remote, full-time position of 38 hours per week, based in the Philippines and supporting Ammacare’s Australian operations.
You must be contactable and responsive throughout your scheduled working hours. Weekend, Australian public holiday and after-hours coverage will form part of the agreed roster.
