Role Overview The Safety Advisor supports Sydney Theatre Company in maintaining a safe, healthy and compliant workplace by providing advice, coordination and support across work health and safety systems, risk management processes, training and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Safety Advisor plays a key role in ensuring compliance with legislative obligations, supporting effective risk management, fostering a positive safety culture, and contributing to the physical and psychological wellbeing of all workers.

Working collaboratively with managers, supervisors and operational teams, the role assists risk owners to identify, assess and manage workplace risks, supports legislative compliance and contributes to the development of a positive safety culture across STC's productions, events, facilities and corporate operations.

Working At STC This is a permanent part time (22.8 hours per week) role.

What We're Looking For

- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification, with sound knowledge of contemporary WHS legislation and risk management principles.




- Return to Work Coordinator accreditation.
- Demonstrated experience in a WHS, safety or injury management role, preferably within a diverse, fast-paced operational workplace. Experience supporting incident investigations, corrective action management, workers compensation and recovery at work processes.
- Demonstrated ability to provide practical, evidence-based safety advice, influence effective risk controls and build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organisational, administrative and digital skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and WHS management systems (e.g. Donesafe), with the ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement and handle confidential information.
- Experience developing and delivering WHS inductions, briefings or training, with flexibility to attend rehearsals, performances, events or emergency exercises outside standard business hours when required.
- Experience supporting psychosocial risk management initiatives.
