We require a university graduate to join our team as a Salary Packaging Consultant. On-the-job training and development is provided with instant recognition upon achieving training milestones and significant growth opportunities within the company.

Training provided will develop your understanding of Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and how it affects clients in Full FBT, Rebatable and Exempt environments. You will be required to develop an understanding of all fringe advantages available to be salary packaged, including Novated Leases for motor vehicles. At all times you will adhere to strict internal compliance standards as dictated by relevant FBT/Income Tax legislation and ATO guidelines.

You will be responsible for consulting with existing and potential salary packaging customers, maintaining and developing strong relationships with customers and suppliers, gaining an understanding of Southgate’s core customer base and liaising with administration staff on salary package setups and management.

Core duties include

- Responding to customer enquiries and providing one-on-one consultations
- Preparing and following up on quotations/analyses for customers
- Assisting clients with selection, purchase negotiations and financing of Novated Lease motor vehicles




- Processing Novated Lease finance applications and documents through to settlement
- Liaising on the setup and termination of customer salary packages
- Negotiating contracts and packaging arrangements with employers and employees
- Explaining to employer staff and payroll departments the correct procedures for dealing with payroll advices, ITC statements and FBT statements

Some interstate/overnight travel may be required on occasion. Ideally, successful candidate will on occasion conduct employer and employee salary packaging presentations at employer worksites.

Key Characteristics/Qualifications

- Tertiary degree in business-related field (i.e. Commerce, Accounting, Economics)
- Confidence in dealing with customers
- Confidence in working with numbers
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work in team environment and autonomously
- Ability to communicate knowledge with staff and clients in a professional and accessible manner in both written and oral communications
