Let’s keep it real.
Wakefields runs on a team that trusts each other and a floor that runs smoothly. As Salon Team Coordinator, you’re the person the team leans on day-to-day keeping the salon organised, the schedule on track, and the energy on point, while making sure every client gets the polished Wakefields experience from the moment they walk in.
This is a leadership-first role. You won’t be running formal reviews or one-on-ones but you will be the steady, respected presence on the floor who keeps things moving, supports the apprentices and stylists, and represents Wakefields’ standards in how you show up every day.
A Day in the Life
Team Leadership & Floor Coordination
- Be the go-to person on the floor — the one stylists and apprentices can lean on for direction, support, and a steady presence when things get busy.
- Keep the day running on time: manage schedule flow, flag gaps or delays, and adjust on the fly when plans change.
- Set the tone for the day — ensure the salon is tidy, welcoming, and fully ready before doors open.
- Support apprentices and junior team members with day-to-day guidance
- Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day questions or issues on the floor, escalating anything beyond your scope to the Head of Operations.
- Help foster a positive, skilled team culture through how you lead by example.
Client Experience & Front of House
- Greet clients with warmth and make them feel welcome from the moment they arrive.
- Manage bookings and appointment changes through Fresha accurately and efficiently.
- Respond to enquiries across phone, email, and social DMs with professionalism and promptness.
- Take payments, manage gift cards, and ensure each client's check-out experience is seamless.
- Maintain accurate client notes and ensure all services are personalised.
- Communicate clearly with stylists about client arrivals, schedule updates, and daily flow changes.
Your Experience
- Previous experience leading or coordinating a team, ideally in a salon, hospitality, or retail environment.
- A natural, calm presence that people trust and respect — someone the team feels comfortable turning to.
- Front-of-house or customer service experience, with confidence managing bookings and client relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organised, proactive, and able to keep a busy floor running without losing the personal touch.
