Hydroil Pty Ltd is an Australian manufacturer of the highest quality hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders since 1964. The nature of the business is design, manufacture and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders supporting multiple industries such as mining, construction, transport, energy, automation and customised technology for industrial markets within Australia and globally.

We are seeking an energetic and team orientated Saw Operator / Goods Receiving based at our Woodville North plant.

This is a full-time permanent position and available for an immediate start.

About the role

Cutting of our raw materials using semi-automatic and manual band saw. Monitor raw material stock levels within the factory space.

Key responsibilities

- Review job cards as soon as they are received, check stock required for manufacture.
- Prioritise cutting jobs by dates required on the job cards unless otherwise instructed.
- Mark job cards with a dot for material that is in stock.
- If purchasing is required deliver job cards and stock information to purchasing.
- Ensure all measurements of material to be cut are -0mm + 3mm.
- Use a tape measure, vernier, micrometer or other measuring equipment as required
- Re-check all measurements prior to cutting material.
- Cut material as per the measurements on the job cards.
- Re-check cut material measurements to ensure conformance to lengths designated on job card.
- Mark all cut or purchased material with its unique job number.
- Ensure cut materials are appropriately stacked into racks, stillages or onto pallets for safe transport around the workshop.
- Transport completed jobs to the area designed as "ready for machining".
- Ensure off cuts are safely stored into racks, stillages or onto pallets.




- Regularly check all stock levels to maintain a good understanding of products on hand.
- Use forklift for material handling purposes (only if licensed)
- Maintain the cutting area including all steel stock areas and the goods inward area in a protected and well-presented manner.
- Strap and wrap materials, products on pallets and stillages in preparation for transport.
- Load and unload cylinders and components onto trucks ins a safe manner and in accordance with forklift safety.
- Unload incoming parts and office equipment and store in marked area and advise purchasing that goods have been received.
- Check delivery notes for incoming stock and compare to job card or purchase order requirements to ensure the product type and quantities are correct, report and discrepancies to purchasing.

About you

- Forklift License (Desirable)
- Experience in cutting of metal/steel materials (Desirable)
- Conversant with The Group's Environment, Safety, Drug and Alcohol Policies, Business Management System and Emergency Plan
- Reliable, self-motivated and can work with minimum supervision.
- Good OH&S; awareness

- Good communication skills

- Work a 38hr, 4 day working week, 6.45am to 4.45pm Monday to Thursday.
