About the role

We’re looking for a curious and proactive Security Analyst to join our IT Security and Governance team in Sydney on a permanent, full-time basis.

Reporting to the Information Security Officer, you’ll support the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of Achmea Farm Insurance’s security controls across incident response, vulnerability management, data protection, identity and access security, and security monitoring. You’ll work closely with IT teams, business stakeholders and external partners to investigate security events, coordinate remediation activities and help strengthen our overall security posture, while escalating material or sensitive matters as appropriate.

This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging cybersecurity professional who wants to build experience across operational security, Microsoft security technologies, investigations and risk management while contributing to a purpose-led organisation.

Key responsibilities

- Monitor and investigate security alerts, incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Support remediation activities and security improvements across the business.
- Assist with data protection, insider risk and security investigations, including documenting findings and handling evidence appropriately.
- Support identity, endpoint and cloud security controls.
- Manage security requests and activities through Jira Service Management.
- Assist with audits, control testing, and technology and supplier security assessments,



including AI-enabled and emerging technologies.
- Prepare security reports, metrics and documentation.
- Contribute to security awareness and training initiatives.

About you Must-have

- 1-3 years' experience in cybersecurity, IT operations or a related technical role.
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience in cybersecurity or IT.
- Working knowledge across security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, identity security, endpoint protection and cloud security.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work with a high level of integrity and discretion.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to learn.

Nice-to-have

- Experience with, or demonstrated capability to learn, Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, Intune, Purview and Defender for Cloud.
- Experience using Jira Service Management.
- Knowledge of PowerShell, KQL or other scripting tools.
- Exposure to audits, control testing or supplier security reviews.
- Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO/IEC 27001, the ACSC Essential Eight, APRA CPS 234 or APRA CPS 230.
- Relevant certifications such as Security+, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst, or equivalent are advantageous.
