Byrnecut is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and has a strong focus on accuracy, organisation and getting things done.

Working closely with internal departments, site teams, management and external suppliers, you will play an important role in ensuring our accounts payable processes run efficiently and accurately.

The Role

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Processing a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently

- Data entry and loading invoices and supporting documentation into relevant systems

- Processing Purchase Order variances and investigating discrepancies

- Batch checking and reviewing invoices prior to processing

- Identifying invoice number, date, pricing and data entry errors

- Correcting discrepancies and working with the wider team to resolve errors

- Identifying recurring processing issues and escalating anomalies where required

- Reconciling supplier statements and investigating outstanding items

- Identifying and following up outstanding credits and account queries

- Liaising with internal departments, site personnel and management

- Communicating with external suppliers to resolve invoice and account queries

- Supporting the wider Accounts Payable and Finance team as required

About You





We’re looking for someone who can confidently manage a busy workload while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Previous experience in a Senior Accounts Payable or high-volume Accounts Payable role

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

- Strong invoice processing and supplier reconciliation experience

- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- The ability to identify and resolve invoice, pricing and Purchase Order discrepancies

- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

- Confident communication skills when dealing with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- A proactive, team-focused approach

- Previous exposure to ERP and finance systems

Experience with Pronto, Redmap, EFTSure and/or SAP would be highly regarded, but is not essential.

Experience within the mining, resources, construction or another high-volume setting would also be advantageous.
