About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Cost Planner to take ownership of cost planning across a live pipeline of luxury apartment developments, mixed-use residential buildings, early learning centres and health facilities. Working directly with senior leadership and project delivery teams, you'll shape feasibility, cost strategy and commercial outcomes from the earliest design stages — with real influence and genuine autonomy.

This is a hands-on, senior role for someone who knows apartment construction inside out and wants to be the trusted cost voice in the room, not just another estimator on the tender treadmill.

You'll be responsible for:

- Preparing elemental and detailed cost plans from early feasibility through to construction documentation
- Building and maintaining cost models and benchmarking data across apartment, mixed-use and commercial projects
- Presenting clear, credible cost advice to clients, directors and project stakeholders




- Identifying value engineering opportunities through design and specification review
- Leading cost input into Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) engagements
- Managing risk registers, contingency allowances and cost-to-budget reporting

What You'll Bring

- 7+ years' cost planning experience in commercial building construction in Australia
- Demonstrated experience on multi-storey apartment projects — non-negotiable
- Strong ability to prepare elemental cost plans and Bills of Quantities across all project stages
- Solid understanding of construction methodology and trade sequencing for high-rise/medium-density apartments
- Confidence reviewing architectural, structural and services drawings for cost impact
- Proficiency in cost planning software (Cubit, CostX, Buildsoft or similar)
- Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar (desirable)
- AIQS membership and/or ECI/D&C; experience (desirable)
