About the Role

Join a centralised information security team supporting a broad technology environment and helping protect critical systems, services, networks and information from cyber threats.

This is a hands-on Level 3 opportunity for an experienced security analyst who can investigate alerts, coordinate incident response and confidently work with technical specialists across the organisation. Alongside operational security, you will contribute to process improvement, controls implementation and ongoing ISO 27001-related uplift.

The role suits someone who takes ownership, works independently and can move from detection and analysis through to practical remediation and clear documentation.

What You'll Be Doing

- Monitor, investigate and triage security detections, alerts and events
- Assess severity, identify likely causes and determine appropriate response actions
- Lead or coordinate responses to live security incidents with relevant technical specialists
- Define and support containment, remediation, mitigation and escalation activities
- Develop and improve incident response playbooks, runbooks, procedures and security documentation
- Contribute to security policies, controls, processes and standards implementation
- Support security risk assessments, audits, vulnerability activities and penetration testing




- Apply threat intelligence and security frameworks to improve the organisation’s security posture

What You'll Need (Essential)

- At least five years’ skilled experience in security analysis or a similar security role
- Demonstrated SOC or security operations experience covering monitoring, alert triage and investigation
- Explicit experience investigating and driving responses to live security incidents
- Strong knowledge of cyber security vulnerabilities, threat behaviours and attacker tactics, techniques and procedures
- Experience applying security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, ASD ISM or MITRE ATT&CK;
- Comprehensive understanding of networking, protocols and firewalls, with solid Windows and Linux experience
- Proven ability to work independently, communicate technical information clearly and own security outcomes

Nice to Have

- Experience with Rapid7, CrowdStrike or Splunk
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Security certification such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP

The Details

- Salary: Circa $165,000 plus Superannuation
- Type: Permanent, full-time
- Location and work arrangement: Milton, Brisbane, hybrid with three days in the office and two days working from home
