Our client, a federal government agency dedicated to delivering vital services to Australians, is seeking a skilled Senior Gen Developer to join their team. This is a unique, long-term opportunity to lead and create software and technical designs for the realisation of highly complex development solutions. Key Responsibilities of the Gen Developer, will include:

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers, ensuring high standards of code quality and performance;
- Develop and implement strategies for long-term code base maintenance and software lifecycle management;
- Conduct high-level analysis of technical requirements to inform project evaluation and solution development;
- Coordinate software releases, production support, and ongoing maintenance activities;
- Ensure compliance with established software development methodologies and security standards;
- Investigate and resolve complex ICT issues related to software development and production environments;
- Engage with stakeholders and partner agencies to enhance service delivery capability and project outcomes;
- Contribute to strategic workforce planning and drive initiatives to improve team performance and engagement;
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports,



briefs, and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations.

Essential Skills and Experience:

- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Gen development.
- Proven ability to lead software projects and teams effectively.
- Experience with COBOL programming, SOAP and RESTful API development, and MQ messaging protocols.
- Familiarity with Cuba or similar systems and Win32 application development are highly desirable.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
