Role Description The Senior Manager Environment Health Safety is a contract, on-site, client-side role based in Sydney, NSW, supporting the delivery of a major hyperscale data centre program. Working directly for the client (owner/developer), this role is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing EHS strategies and programs across the project lifecycle, and for holding the principal contractor and its subcontractors to account on safety performance.

Day-to-day activities include conducting site inspections and audits, reviewing contractor safety management plans, SWMS and high-risk work permits, identifying and mitigating EHS risks, and ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, standards and client policies. The role manages accident and incident investigations, prepares reports for senior leadership, and drives corrective and preventive actions.

The Senior

Manager also designs and delivers health and safety training, coaches project teams and contractors on best practice,



and collaborates with the client's leadership team to foster a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in EHS performance across live and operational data centre environments.

Contract Details:

- Engagement: Contract, minimum 6 months with potential for extension
- Rate: $1,100 – $1,200 per day + GST
- Location: Sydney, NSW (on-site, client-side)
- Start: Immediate

Qualifications:

- Strong EHS and Health & Safety expertise, with experience designing and managing EHS systems and frameworks.
- Client-side, owner's representative or PMC experience on data centre, mission-critical or large-scale commercial/infrastructure projects is highly regarded.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health practices, including risk assessment, hazard identification and worker well-being initiatives.
- Proficiency in Accident Investigation, root cause analysis and incident reporting, with the ability to implement effective corrective actions.
- Experience in Training design and delivery for EHS topics, including toolbox talks, induction programs and ongoing safety education.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in the construction or infrastructure sector within the Australian regulatory environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence project teams, principal contractors and senior client leaders on safety matters.
- Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
- Qualified certifications in EHS or safety management (e.g., Cert IV WHS, NEBOSH or equivalent) are highly regarded.
