About The Role An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Preclinical Scientist to join our Early Stage and RNA Programs team.

This role is responsible for leading key scientific activities that support vaccine and RNA development programs, including the design, execution and oversight of preclinical studies, advanced assay development, vaccine characterisation and data interpretation. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will provide technical leadership, mentor scientists, and contribute to the successful delivery of innovative vaccine development programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Lead the development, optimisation,



validation and transfer of analytical and bioanalytical methods.
- Design, execute and oversee complex preclinical and laboratory studies supporting vaccine and RNA development programs, including in vivo research activities.
- Provide scientific leadership and technical oversight for preclinical animal studies, ensuring activities are conducted in accordance with approved ethics and animal welfare requirements.
- Perform characterisation and testing of vaccine and biologic products using a range of analytical techniques.
- Analyse, interpret and communicate analytical and preclinical study data to support project decision-making.
- Review scientific documentation and ensure activities comply with quality requirements and company standards.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Biochemistry, Immunology, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline (Master/PhD in related discipline is highly desirable)

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Experience

- Experience designing, executing and interpreting preclinical studies, preferably within vaccine, biologics or RNA development programs.
- Demonstrated experience working with animal models and in vivo research methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of biochemistry, molecular biology,



immunology and vaccine characterisation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with techniques such as ELISA, HPLC, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot and cell-based assays.
- Experience with assay qualification, validation, troubleshooting and technology transfer.
- Experience working within GLP and/or GMP environments.
- Strong communication, organisational and scientific problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a collaborative environment.

Selection criteria

- Demonstrated experience in vaccine, biologics or nucleic acid-based product development.
- Demonstrated experience designing, conducting or overseeing preclinical animal studies, including work with rodent models.
- Experience with assay and method development, validation and implementation.
- Experience analysing complex scientific data and providing technical recommendations.
- Experience leading projects and mentoring scientists or technical team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively and align with Vaxxas’ values and behaviours.
