The Opportunity:

Our Brisbane studio has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Urban Designer to join the team. In this pivotal role within our national Design team, you will bring strong design thinking, technical capability and production expertise to projects across Brisbane, South East Queensland and beyond.

You will combine creative thinking with a collaborative, professional approach, helping clients navigate complex urban challenges and building trusted relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.

At Urbis, you will help shape the places where people live, work and connect. A genuine commitment to world-class design, together with advanced visual, verbal and written communication skills, is essential.

In this role, you will:

- Contribute to a diverse portfolio of urban design projects across Brisbane, South East Queensland and nationally.
- Translate complex ideas into clear and compelling design concepts across a range of visual and digital formats.
- Support our Brisbane studio and collaborate with regional Design teams to meet client needs.
- Deliver site analysis, project positioning, urban frameworks, context reports, yield analysis, master plans and design guidelines for place-led projects.
- Work efficiently with planners, landscape architects, economists and other specialists on multidisciplinary projects.




- Support team members and contribute to a positive, high-performing studio culture.

About you:

- Tertiary qualifications in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of relevant experience in an architecture or urban design practice.
- Strong design and technical capability, with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino and other 3D modelling or rendering software
- Robust design judgement and the ability to communicate ideas clearly through graphics, writing and conversation
- An understanding of Brisbane and South East Queensland's urban context, planning environment and opportunities for growth.
