About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside CFA's senior leaders, supporting the priorities of the Chief Officer and working closely with the Assistant Chief Fire Officer (Staff Officer) and the Assistant Chief Fire Officer (Secondments) on strategic workforce planning, leadership development, and initiatives for senior operational leaders.

Working in a complex and high-profile workplace, you will provide policy support and governance oversight on a range of workforce, operational and organisational matters. You will lead research and analysis, prepare high-quality reports, briefings and formal documentation, provide secretariat support to senior forums and coordinate workforce planning activities.

As a trusted advisor, you will manage sensitive and confidential matters requiring sound judgement, professionalism and discretion. You will work closely with the Chief Officer, Deputy Chief Officers and key stakeholders to support organisational priorities, quality assurance activities and strategic projects.





This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to community safety across Victoria while working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders. Please note, you will be required to work from various Melbourne locations, including CFA Headquarters in Burwood East, Melbourne CBD and our State Logistics Centre in Scoresby.

About you The successful candidate will bring:

- High level of political acumen and ability to think strategically whilst also being across the detail.
- High level of communications and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate, lead through influence and prepare reports for Government Agencies/external publication.
- Extensive experience in managing complex problems negotiating and collaborating with others on complex and sensitive matters with a broad range of stakeholders to find suitable solutions.
- Extensive experience in providing strategic and operational advice to senior management.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with skills and proficiency in building and improving systems, processes and quality assurance mechanisms.
- Strong analytical skills that support effective problem solving and decision making.
- Tertiary qualifications in business administration and/or project management or relevant discipline will be highly regarded.
