SIL Junior Systems Administrator

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing defence technology environment where you'll gain hands-on experience supporting secure ICT systems, enterprise infrastructure, and cutting-edge engineering programs. Working within Hanwha Defence Australia's (HDA) Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL) from our Avalon facility. You will gain hands-on experience supporting, administering, and maintaining classified ICT systems while learning from experienced technical professionals.

This is a unique opportunity to join a greenfield environment, where you will play a key role in helping establish and support current systems and processes from the ground up. Whether you're a recent graduate or have recently completed an IT qualification, this role will give you the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in the defence industry.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Supporting Windows and Linux-based systems and networks
- Assisting with server, workstation and virtual machine administration




- Learning enterprise technologies including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy
- Supporting software deployment, patch management and infrastructure maintenance
- Contributing to cyber security, monitoring and system improvements
- Working with technical specialists on exciting and meaningful defence projects

About You:

- Recently completed or currently completing a qualification in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Passionate about technology and eager to learn
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Exposure to Windows, Linux, networking, scripting or cybersecurity is highly regarded
- Able to work collaboratively in a structured and skilled

Eligibility:

To be successful in this role, you must be an Australian Citizen and be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1).
