Senior Infrastructure Reliability Engineer (AI Compute) - Australia (Hybrid / Regional Travel)
The Opportunity
Scale high-performance AI infrastructure across one of the largest GPU/HPC compute platforms in Asia-Pacific.
We are looking for a Senior AI Infrastructure Engineer to own the reliability, performance, and automation of our exabyte-scale storage, high-speed fabrics, and GPU/HPC cloud management plane.
What You’ll Do:
- Exabyte Storage & Data Path: Drive operations and performance tuning across scale-out filesystems (VAST, WEKA, Ceph etc) and high-speed fabrics (RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, InfiniBand, RoCE).
- GPU Compute Fleet: Maintain compute node health, automated fault detection, driver/firmware baselines, and hardware remediation workflows.
- Guarded Automation: Eliminate manual work by building self-healing remediation tooling and automated provisioning as code (OpenTofu/Terraform, Ansible, Argo CD etc).
- Platform Operations: Maintain multi-tenant controls,
virtualisation planes (Proxmox/KVM/VMware), Kubernetes integrations, and full-stack observability (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki).
- Deep Escalation & Incidents: Act as the Tier-3 technical escalation point for major incidents, deep kernel/hardware diagnostics, root-cause analysis, and vendor engineering escalations.
What You Bring:
- Solid experience: production systems, infrastructure, or platform engineering (24/7 high-availability environments).
- Expert Linux & Storage Knowledge: Deep internals-level understanding of kernel/IO, memory, networking, and parallel/scale-out storage.
- Modern IaC & Scripting: Solid hands-on experience with Python, Go, or Bash alongside GitOps practices.
- Incident & Production Leadership: Proven ability to drive major incident recovery, write executable runbooks, and mentor team members.
