About the Role

Amplink Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer – AI & Intelligent Systems to join our team in Adelaide, South Australia.

In this full-time, in office position, you will design, develop, test and deploy intelligent software systems and machine learning solutions supporting our MarketBrain AI technology and the Amplink modelling platform.

You will collaborate with energy industry specialists, data scientists and software engineers to translate complex electricity market and power grid dynamics into reliable, scalable and production-ready software solutions.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of AI-powered applications, predictive modelling capabilities and high-performance software systems, with a strong focus on software quality, maintainability, security and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test and maintain software applications and AI-driven systems supporting the MarketBrain AI platform.

Develop, train, validate and deploy machine learning models, including neural networks and predictive algorithms.

Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering and analysis of complex energy market and grid datasets.

Design and implement scalable software components, APIs and integration solutions for machine learning models.

Evaluate, optimise and maintain model accuracy, performance, scalability and reliability.

Integrate machine learning models into production software environments.

Collaborate with technical teams and energy domain specialists to translate business and technical requirements into software solutions.

Develop automated testing and validation procedures to ensure software quality.

Investigate and resolve software defects, performance issues and production system problems.

Participate in code reviews,



technical discussions and software architecture decisions.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including software design specifications and model documentation.

Research and evaluate emerging artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to support ongoing platform improvement.

Apply secure software development practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related discipline.

Demonstrated experience in software engineering, software development or the implementation of machine learning systems.

Proficiency in Python or another relevant programming language used in production software development.

Practical experience developing, training, validating or deploying machine learning models.

Understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, data structures and object-oriented programming.

Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering and model performance evaluation.

Familiarity with software testing, debugging, version control and technical documentation.

Ability to develop maintainable, scalable and reliable software solutions.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary technical teams.

Desirable Skills

Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or scikit-learn.

Knowledge of REST APIs, backend services and database systems.

Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerisation or machine learning deployment pipelines.

Experience with time-series forecasting, optimisation algorithms or predictive analytics.

Understanding of electricity markets, energy systems or power grid modelling.

Experience with Git, CI/CD processes and automated testing.
