About us
Logidata Pty Ltd builds software and IoT solutions for mining and industrial operations.
Our platform captures and processes telemetry from field devices deployed across operational sites and transforms that data into actionable information for environmental and operations teams. It provides real-time visibility of dust levels, haul-road conditions including corrugation, equipment activity and other field telemetry through interactive maps, dashboards, alerts and reporting tools.
Our technology brings together IoT field devices, cloud-based processing, web applications and mobile applications to provide customers with a clear, live view of site conditions. Our customers include iron ore, copper, port and rail operations across Australia.
About the role
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our development team and contribute to the continued growth, reliability and operation of our software platform.
You will work across the technology stack, taking ownership of software that collects, processes, analyses and visualises live operational data from mining and industrial sites.
Key responsibilities include
- Design and implement scalable, secure and maintainable solutions across web and mobile platforms
- Develop and optimise APIs and data-processing layers that enable reliable communication between field devices and the platform
- Work closely with operations personnel, field teams and customers to understand real-world site requirements and translate them into practical software solutions
- Write clean, high-quality and well-documented code across the full stack, including frontend, backend and mobile applications
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing and reliable, frequent deployments
About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline
- Strong programming skills in C# and .NET, with experience building reliable backend services, APIs and business applications
- Solid experience with TypeScript and React, and a good understanding of contemporary frontend development practices
- Experience working with relational databases, including data modelling, querying and performance optimisation; PostgreSQL experience is highly regarded
- Familiarity with cloud services such as serverless computing, messaging, event-driven processing and scalable data pipelines
- A good understanding of SDLC, software architecture and system design principles
- Experience with automated testing, Git, code review and CI/CD workflows
- The ability to investigate complex technical issues across application, database, cloud and integration layers
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with software engineers, field personnel, operations teams and other technical stakeholders
A practical understanding of hardware and IoT systems is also important for this role. You do not need to be a hardware engineer, but you should be comfortable:
- Working with software that communicates with field devices, sensors and communication hardware
- Understanding the basic operation of IoT and embedded devices and how they exchange data with cloud-based systems
- Reading device specifications, technical documentation and communication protocol information
- Troubleshooting integration issues involving software, hardware, connectivity and telemetry
- Working with technical and field teams to identify whether problems originate from the device, network, data pipeline or application layer
