About ETF Shares

ETF Shares is offering internships over two weeks this summer, working on site alongside the team that built an ETF issuer from scratch.

ETF Shares is an Australian fund manager that provides low-cost, index-tracking exchange traded funds (ETFs). Our mission is to address gaps in the market by delivering cutting-edge, sophisticated and cost-effective ETFs designed to meet the evolving needs of modern investors.

The Australian ETF market has grown strongly over the past decade, yet it remains in the early stages of widespread adoption. That makes it an exciting time to see how the industry works from the inside.

Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday

Location: Fully on site at our office

What's in it for you

Our team has done it from scratch: designing products, taking them to market, and building the operations, trading infrastructure, distribution and client relationships behind them. For two weeks, you'll sit alongside them and learn how it all works.

Learn from people who have done it. Hear first-hand how an ETF issuer is built, from product idea to listing and beyond.

See the whole business. Get exposure to investments, product, operations, sales and marketing in a small team where every function is close at hand.

Real training. Go through the same staff training programme our own team completes.





A project with your name on it. Deliver a special project and present your work to the team.

Connections and a reference point. Build relationships with experienced industry professionals and leave with practical experience to talk about in future applications and interviews.

What you'll do

Your two weeks combine our staff training programme with a special project you'll complete and present.

Complete our staff training programme. Learn how ETFs work, how they are structured, listed and traded, and how ETF Shares operates day to day.

Deliver a special project. Work on a defined project set by the team, with guidance from experienced staff along the way.

Present your findings. Share your work with the team at the end of the program.

Join the team's working week. Sit in on meetings and see how decisions are made across the business.

Who we're looking for

We want curious, motivated people with a genuine interest in investment management and ETFs.

Currently studying, or recently graduated in, finance, economics, commerce, actuarial studies, data science or a related field A keen interest in financial markets and investment products

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable with Excel and working with data

Able to attend on site, 9:00am to 5:00pm, for the full two weeks
