With continued growth in the tax and advisory portfolio, the firm is now looking for a Tax Manager to take ownership of key client relationships and play a visible leadership role in the team.
The role
As Tax Manager, you will own a portfolio of SME and high-net-worth clients from day one, leading meetings, shaping tax and structuring strategies, and becoming a trusted adviser on complex matters. This role goes beyond pure delivery and combines client leadership, technical oversight and team mentoring.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing direct client relationships, including running tax and advisory meetings.
- Advising on complex tax and business matters including Division 7A, CGT, FBT, GST and structuring strategies.
- Taking responsibility for compliance outcomes across companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders.
- Reviewing and overseeing BAS and IAS prepared by junior and intermediate accountants.
- Mentoring and developing junior and intermediate team members, supporting their technical growth.
- Working closely with the Directors on strategic decisions and opportunities across your client portfolio.
This opportunity will suit either an established Tax Manager or a Senior Tax Accountant in public practice who is ready to step into their first managerial role.
About you
You’re a technically strong tax professional who enjoys both the detail and the client-facing side of the role; Someone who can sit across from a business owner and talk strategy, not just compliance.
You will ideally bring:
- Strong Australian public practice experience in tax, with exposure to SME and high-net-worth clients.
- CA or CPA qualification, or be in the final stages of completion.
- Proven capability across Division 7A, CGT, FBT, GST and structuring advice.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to lead client meetings independently.
- A collaborative mindset, with a genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior and intermediate accountants.
- Experience with Xero being highly regarded.
