The Role /n
We are seeking an organised and professional Medical Secretary to join our practice.
/n
This is a part-time position, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm , with the potential to become full-time for the right candidate .
/n
The role will provide administrative and clinical support to our medical team and assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.
/n
The successful candidate will be reliable, flexible and professional, with a willingness to assist with additional shifts to cover staff absences and holidays when required.
/n

Key Responsibilities /n
/n
- Front desk duties, including greeting patients, managing appointments, and responding to enquiries
/n
- Typing and processing correspondence using medical templates
/n
- Managing patient files in accordance with privacy and compliance requirements
/n
- Coordinating external consultations, hospital admissions, and diagnostic testing
/n
- Handling billing, Medicare, and Department of Veterans’ Affairs claims accurately
/n
- Assisting with basic IT tasks, including data entry and system backups
/n
What We’re Looking For /n
/n
- Previous experience in a medical or administrative role (preferred)
/n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
/n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
/n
- Proficiency in medical software such as Genie and Microsoft Word
/n
- A professional, courteous manner and strong commitment to patient confidentiality
/n
- Reliability and a genuine interest in building a long-term role within a local practice
/n
