Current graduates welcome, with a clearly defined NDIS caseload

Values driven, multidisciplinary NDIS provider

Part time, 3 days per week. New graduate OT wanted for a new NDIS occupational therapy service in a supportive, values driven allied health team.

About us

Choice Community Health is an NDIS service provider dedicated to high quality, person centred care that empowers people to live with dignity, purpose and independence. Guided by Christian values of compassion, service and respect, we bring together a multidisciplinary team that blends evidence based practice, clinical expertise and lived experience.

We work in partnership with families and communities to help people live the life of their choice.

About the role

This is a permanent part time role, three days per week (22.8 hours), suited to a confident new graduate occupational therapist. You will work with NDIS participants in their homes, in the community and from our clinical space.

You will:

Complete functional capacity assessments for NDIS planning and plan reassessments

Build daily living skills for self care, home tasks, routines and community access

Recommend low cost assistive technology and basic equipment

Provide practical strategies to participants, families and support workers

Write clear clinical notes, progress reports and NDIS reports

We do not provide OT supervision, so the role suits someone who has, or will arrange, their own mentor. To keep the work safe and manageable, the caseload is clearly defined.

What you receive for three days per week:

$40,832 - $45,000 per year before tax

Plus 12% superannuation paid on top. This is the first year graduate rate under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020, Health Professional Level 1.

About you

Current general registration with AHPRA as an occupational therapist

Sound clinical reasoning, communication and report writing skills

Able to work independently

A person centred, respectful approach to working with people with disability

A current driver licence and access to an insured vehicle

An NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one

Interest in disability and the NDIS, including student placements, is highly regarded

What we offer

Three days per week, with potential for more hours as the service grows

A clearly defined caseload suited to a new graduate OT

A supportive multidisciplinary team, with support coordinators who refer in

The chance to help shape a new service
