Heart Talent is looking for an experienced major gifts fundraiser to join an award-winning, impact-driven NFP organisation and play a pivotal role in growing philanthropic support.

About the opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy and Growth, you'll play a hands-on role in developing and growing a major gifts program that supports life-changing healthcare and community impact.
Significant work has been done to establish strong foundations,
including prospect research and moves management frameworks, a diverse range of funding opportunities and systems and processes to support sustainable growth.
This is an opportunity to develop the major donor portfolio, combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to turn potential into significant philanthropic support.
You'll take ownership of a portfolio comprising existing donors, supporters with major gift potential and new prospects, managing relationships across the entire donor journey.
You'll need to be equally comfortable developing thoughtful engagement strategies, building genuine relationships and confidently asking for significant gifts.
Key responsibilities include:
- own prospect research, discovery and qualification to build a sustainable major gifts pipeline
- build donor relationships, understanding motivations, interests and giving capacity
- develop tailored engagement plans, funding proposals and compelling cases for support
- solicit significant gifts and multi-year philanthropic commitments
- apply structured moves management to progress relationships and maximise long-term giving potential
- collaborate with internal stakeholders to align donor interests with funding priorities
- develop donor opportunities through established and emerging referral pathways
- steward a small portfolio of confirmed gifts-in-wills supporters, exploring lifetime giving opportunities where appropriate
- maintain accurate CRM records,
track pipeline activity and report on progress and outcomes.
About you
You're a major gifts fundraiser with a proven track record of personally securing significant philanthropic gifts.
A natural relationship builder and exceptional communicator, you're curious about people, skilled at building trust and confident in making the ask.
You combine strategic thinking with disciplined execution, taking a proactive, methodical approach to developing donor relationships and progressing opportunities.
You balance patience and long-term thinking with the drive to deliver results.
Self-motivated, resourceful and accountable, you take ownership, follow through and work both independently and collaboratively.
We’d love you to bring:
- proven major gifts fundraising experience, including personally securing significant gifts
- end-to-end donor relationships management experience, from prospect research and discovery to solicitation and stewardship
- solid independent prospect research and qualification skills
- a structured approach to moves management, pipeline development and donor engagement
- exceptional communication skills, including compelling donor propositions and confident financial asks
- strong organisational skills, CRM capability, attention to detail and follow-through
- initiative, commercial judgement and a commitment to meaningful outcomes.
