Fabricator / Installer – Security Doors & Screens

Are you good with your hands and tired of doing the same thing every day? We’re growing and looking for a reliable Fabricator / Installer to join our team in Hobart. You’ll build security doors, fly screens and window screens in our workshop, then get out on the road to install them in homes and businesses across Southern Tasmania.

Experienced fabricators are welcome, with pay to match your skills. If you’re newer to the trade but handy with tools and keen to learn, we’ll train you.

About the role

This role is a mix of workshop and in office work, so no two days are the same. You’ll be:

- Reading job sheets and measurements to fabricate screen doors and windows

- Measuring, cutting and assembling frames, mesh, hinges, locks and other components

- Using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery safely

- Checking finished products to make sure they meet our quality standards

- Loading jobs and travelling with the team to install products across Southern Tasmania

- Giving customers friendly, professional service on site

- Keeping the workshop, tools and work vehicles clean, safe and organised

About you

We care more about attitude and reliability than years of experience. You’ll ideally have:

- Confidence using hand and power tools

- A good eye for detail and accurate measuring

- A reliable, punctual and positive work ethic

- Good communication skills, and you work well in a team and on your own

- A willingness to work both in the workshop and on site

- Physical fitness to lift and carry doors and screens

- A current driver’s licence

- Experience in screen fabrication, construction, glazing, joinery, or a similar trade is a bonus, but not essential

What we offer

- Industry rates, with pay based on experience

- 5 days a week can be arranged

- A possible full-time position for the right candidate

- Full on-the-job training

- Variety, with workshop days and days out on installs

- A supportive team and the opportunity to grow your career with us
