Wavell State High School is a well-established secondary school in Wavell Heights, known for its strong academic programs. The school is currently seeking a dedicated ITD Teacher Aide to join its team and support student learning in a collaborative workplace.
The successful applicant will work directly with the Manual Arts team, providing practical support to teachers and students across the department. This position would suit someone who enjoys working with young people, has an interest and experience in practical learning and trades, and can confidently support students with a range of learning and additional needs.

Wavell State High School, which opened in 1959, is a large and highly regarded State Secondary school in the Inner Northern suburbs of Brisbane.

Your opportunity:
- Contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.
Responsibilities will include:
- preparing and organising equipment and resources for classroom activities,
- ordering and maintaining materials and supplies,
- and working closely with the Manual Arts team to ensure classrooms and learning spaces are well prepared and resourced.
The role will involve working in a workshop environment and may require the safe and appropriate use of power tools, workshop equipment and machinery.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace health and safety and be comfortable working in a practical, hands-on environment.
The role will also provide direct support to the Manual Arts team to assist with the smooth and effective delivery of practical learning programs and ensure students have access to the equipment and resources they need for their learning.
