About the role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated final year student or lawyer who has at least 1 year experience in Workers Compensation matters /work injury damages. This position offers a fantastic prospect to work within our growing personal injury law practice, where you will provide high-quality legal services to clients pursuing personal injury claims. You must be familar with PIC proceedure/practice and dealing with IRO.
What you'll be doing
- Advising clients on personal injury claims, including Workers Compensation matters /workplace injuries
- Preparing and drafting legal documents, including WCC pleadings on the Portal at the PIC
- It would be expected that you would have experience in drawing 282 notices and PFS’s statements of claim, and settlement agreements
- Briefing Counsel in Workers Compensation and WID matters
- Representing clients in court proceedings and mediations
- Managing case files and ensuring compliance with legal deadlines and procedural requirements
- Collaborating with colleagues to support team objectives and share knowledge
What we're looking for
- Dedicated final year student or lawyer who has experience in Workers Compensation matters /work injury damages
- Strong knowledge of Workers Compensation proceedure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients
- Experience in managing a caseload and meeting deadlines
- Proficiency with LEAP and Microsoft Office applications
- Essential - Previous experience in a law firm or legal practice environment
