Durack Civil is a Queensland-based civil contractor delivering road, infrastructure, earthworks, pavement and renewable energy projects across SEQ and regional Queensland. With a solid pipeline of work and continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team and play a key role in supporting project delivery across the business.
Based from our either of our SEQ offices, this role will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators and Operations personnel to source materials, plant, subcontractors and services that keep our projects running efficiently and profitably.
Your day-to-day could involve:
- Managing procurement activities across multiple civil construction projects
- Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Negotiating pricing, terms and supply agreements
- Managing purchase orders and tracking deliveries
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Monitoring procurement schedules to ensure project requirements are met
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and supply chain efficiencies
- Assisting with tender handovers and project mobilisation
- Maintaining procurement records and reporting across the business
- Working closely with operational teams to forecast upcoming procurement requirements
Key Skills & Attributes
Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of procurement processes,
negotiation and cost management.
Organisation: Ability to manage multiple priorities across several projects simultaneously.
Communication: Confident liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and project teams.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy when preparing and reviewing procurement documentation.
Problem Solving: Ability to respond quickly to project demands and supply chain challenges.
Relationship Building: Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience within civil construction, infrastructure, mining or related industries highly regarded
- Strong understanding of supplier engagement and commercial negotiations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement systems
- Knowledge of subcontractor and material procurement processes
- Current Driver's Licence
