We are seeking a dedicated Farm Hand to join our team in Walkamin, Queensland. This permanent, full time position is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in the agriculture industry. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting daily farm operations, ensuring the productive management of crops and livestock while adhering to safety protocols and workplace health and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the planting, cultivating, and harvesting of crops
Operate and maintain farm machinery, including tractors and telehandlers
Handle livestock, including poultry, with a focus on low-stress handling techniques
Work collaboratively within a team to achieve farm objectives
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements
Perform routine maintenance and repair of farm equipment and machinery
Monitor crop and livestock health and report any issues to management
Qualifications:
Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field
Experience working in a team workplace on farms
Experience operating farm machinery including tractors, light vehicles, telehandlers, and forklifts
Experience in livestock handling including poultry and low-stress livestock handling
Strong skills in maintenance and repair of farm equipment and machinery
Ability to comply with safety protocols and workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements
