Set among olive groves on 60 scenic acres, Old Coast Road Brewery brings together craft beer brewed on site, outstanding food and relaxed South West hospitality. From restaurant service to special functions, food is a big part of the experience, and we’re looking for a hands-on Sous Chef to help lead the way.
The Role
Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll keep preparation organised, service running smoothly and the team delivering food they’re proud of.
You’ll:
Prepare, cook and present dishes for restaurant service and functions.
Supervise daily kitchen preparation and service, allocating duties to chefs and kitchen hands.
Manage kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence.
Maintain food quality, portion sizes and presentation standards.
Assist with menu development, recipe testing and food costing.
Monitor stock, assist with ordering and stocktakes, and control food waste.
Train kitchen staff in cooking methods and service standards.
Maintain food safety, allergen controls, kitchen hygiene and secure working practices.
About You
You’re an experienced sous chef or a solid senior chef ready to step up. You lead by example, stay calm during busy services and know how to get the best from your team.
You’ll bring strong cooking skills, sound kitchen organisation and pride in consistent, well-presented food. Availability for weekends, public holidays and functions are essential.
