Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Inspect the cleanliness and condition of baking equipment and production areas before commencing production.

· Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety and food hygiene requirements.

· Operate, monitor and maintain baking equipment, tools, ovens, mixers and other bakery machinery.

· Check the quality and condition of raw materials including flour, yeast, salt, water and other ingredients.

· Accurately weigh and measure ingredients according to recipes and production requirements.

· Mix and knead dough manually or using commercial bakery machinery.

· Monitor dough fermentation, proofing and conditioning times to achieve the required flavour, texture and consistency.

· Cut, mould, shape and portion dough into loaves, rolls and other specified bakery products.

· Operate ovens and monitor baking temperatures, baking times and product appearance.

· Adjust oven settings and baking processes where required to maintain product quality.

· Coordinate the forming, loading, baking, unloading and cooling of production batches.

· Conduct ongoing quality checks to ensure consistency of finished bakery products.

· Identify production or quality issues and make appropriate adjustments to recipes or baking processes.

· Clean and maintain baking trays,



tins, mixers, ovens, benches and other bakery equipment.

· Maintain clean, hygienic and organised workstations and production areas.

· Manage stock levels of ingredients and baking supplies to support continuous production.

· Maintain cleanliness, delivery records in the food safety program on a daily/weekly and monthly basis

· Help in ordering raw materials and bakery supplies when required.

· Assist with testing and introducing recent products and recipes.

· Training and supervising current and junior staff.

· Help in production planning and scheduling.

Skills and Experience

· Certificate III in Baking or equivalent.

· Minimum one year experience working in a bakery or similar environment.

· Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

· Ability to maintain consistent product quality and presentation.

· Positive organisational and time-management skills.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Positive communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
