Kangaroo Flat Sports Club Inc. is looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about food, enjoys working in a busy kitchen workplace and can work effectively as part of a team.

About the Role

As our Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen. You will play an important role in maintaining our food quality, kitchen standards and service.

Key responsibilities include:

· Assisting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen

· Food preparation and cooking to a consistently high standard

· Supporting and supervising kitchen staff

· Ensuring food presentation and quality meet venue standards

· Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness

· Assisting with stock control, ordering and kitchen organisation

· Monitoring portion control and minimising food wastage

· Helping coordinate kitchen operations during busy service periods

· Following recipes, menus and food preparation procedures

· Ensuring compliance with food safety requirements





· Working collaboratively with front-of-house and management teams

· Performing other kitchen duties as required

About You

The successful applicant will have:

· Previous experience as a Chef, or in a similar senior kitchen role

· Solid cooking and food preparation skills

· Excellent organisational and time-management skills

· The ability to remain calm and work efficiently under pressure

· A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements

· Valuable communication and leadership skills

· A positive attitude and strong work ethic

· The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

· Reliability and flexibility

· A passion for producing quality food
