Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Surgical Nurse to join our team. As a Surgical Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care during surgical procedures. Your primary responsibility will be to assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals in the operating room, ensuring a protected and efficient surgical setting. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for surgery by conducting pre-operative assessments, obtaining medical histories, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing instruments, supplies, and necessary equipment.
Monitor patients’ vital signs, anaesthesia administration, and surgical site to ensure patient safety and comfort.
Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a sterile setting and adhere to infection control protocols.




Administer medications and intravenous fluids as directed by the surgeon or anaesthesiologist.
Document patient information, surgical procedures, and post-operative care accurately and timely.
Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions and provide emotional support as needed.

Qualifications:
Valid nursing license and completion of an accredited nursing program.
Proven experience as a Surgical Nurse or in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.
Robust critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
