Chop & Chew Belmont Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated Cook to join the kitchen team on a continuing, full-time basis to support ongoing business operations. Reporting directly to the Head Chef/Director, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols.
Key responsibilities
Examining food to ensure exceptional quality and freshness prior to preparation.
Preparing, seasoning, and cooking dishes in accordance with menu standards, ensuring excellent consistency and presentation.
Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Portioning food, plating dishes, and adding appropriate sauces and garnishes.
Preparing food to meet specific dietary requirements or allergy requests.
Storing food safely in temperature-controlled facilities, managing stock rotation, assisting with ordering, and actively minimizing food wastage.
Maintaining high levels of kitchen hygiene and strictly following food safety and HACCP procedures.
Working efficiently during busy service periods to guarantee timely food delivery while collaborating closely with front-of-house staff.
About you
Certificate IV in Kitchen Management and a Diploma of Hospitality Management (or equivalent).
A minimum of 1 year of full time (or equivalent) experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
Proven understanding of food safety, HACCP compliance, and commercial kitchen operations.
Solid teamwork and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to perform efficiently under pressure.
