We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (Aged Care) to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to elderly residents in our aged care facility. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of residents while adhering to regulatory standards and best practices in aged care.
Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to elderly residents, including administering medications, managing chronic conditions, and providing wound care.
Conduct thorough assessments of residents’ health status and care needs, developing and updating individualised care plans accordingly.
Monitor and document residents’ progress, changes in condition, and responses to treatments, ensuring accurate and timely records.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, physiotherapists, and social workers, to coordinate and optimise resident care.
Provide emotional support and counselling to residents and their families, addressing concerns and enhancing the quality of life.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and facility policies related to aged care and infection control.
Assist with the training and supervision of junior nursing staff and care workers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of care policies and procedures.
Handle emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions and support as required.
Maintain a secure and supportive setting for residents, including managing behavioural issues and ensuring respect for individual dignity and privacy.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent.
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
Proven experience in aged care nursing or a related field.
Robust knowledge of aged care principles, including chronic disease management, palliative care, and gerontology.
Excellent clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
Compassionate and empathetic approach to care, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in electronic health records and nursing documentation.
