Key Responsibilities:
Design and optimise synthetic workflows for peptide and peptide-like molecules.
Support synthesis activities to deliver key compounds and precursors for drug programs.
Lead solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), including peptide cleavage, purification, and lyophilisation.
Perform advanced analysis using HPLC, LC-MS, and NMR to confirm compound quality.
Develop and refine analytical methods for peptide characterisation.
Maintain laboratory operations, including reagent preparation, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.
Record and interpret experimental data, reporting findings clearly to the team.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones.
Requirements:
Master’s or PhD in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or related field.
Proven experience in synthetic organic chemistry workflows, especially peptides or peptide-like molecules.
Hands-on expertise with HPLC, LC-MS, NMR, and TLC, including method development and data analysis.
Ability to troubleshoot synthesis and purification challenges in a research setting.
Solid organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and documentation.
Excellent scientific communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience working with external partners, including CROs, is desirable.
