Established in 1929, the Longueville Hotel is a welcoming local pub offering relaxed bistro dining and spaces for family gatherings, social occasions and functions.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare and cook quality meals, maintain consistent food presentation and help deliver effective service during busy lunch and dinner periods.

Major duties and responsibilities
Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, slicing and portioning vegetables, meat, poultry and seafood.
Prepare and cook menu items using appropriate methods, including grilling, frying, roasting, baking and boiling.
Prepare sauces, stocks, dressings, salads and accompaniments according to established recipes.
Check ingredient freshness and monitor cooking temperatures, seasoning and food quality.
Portion, plate and garnish meals to maintain consistent presentation and serving sizes.
Organise daily preparation and maintain a well-stocked workstation for timely service.
Prepare meals for dietary requirements and allergies, following kitchen procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
Receive and check deliveries,



store ingredients correctly, label prepared food and rotate stock.
Monitor stock levels, report shortages and minimise food waste through careful preparation and portion control.
Clean and sanitise work areas, utensils and equipment, and follow food safety and workplace safety procedures.
Work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to coordinate orders and support preparation for functions and daily specials.

About you
Relevant commercial cookery qualifications or equivalent practical experience.
Experience cooking in a busy pub, bistro or restaurant kitchen.
Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and secure food storage.
Robust organisation, communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to maintain quality and work efficiently under pressure.
Availability for rostered shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
