Summary:

The Clinical Assistant provides patient care in a medical practice or hospital setting, working under the supervision of a physician or nurse. They perform various duties, including preparing patient files, taking vital signs, administering medications, conducting diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical procedures.

Responsibilities:
Conduct patient interviews to obtain medical history and symptoms
Record vital sign readings and other measurements accurately
Assist in maintaining patient files and records
Set up and assist with medical procedures such as biopsies and surgeries
Prepare medications and administer according to physician’s instructions
Assist with diagnostic tests such as EKGs, X-rays, and lab work
Clean and sterilise medical equipment and exam rooms
Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow




Educate patients on their medical conditions and treatment plans
Observe and report any changes in patient conditions to the physician or nurse

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or Medical Assistant program
Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems
Ability to prioritise and multitask in a quick-paced workplace
Physical ability to lift and move patients and medical equipment
Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
